Spyderco Caribbean

One of the most stylish additions to Spyderco’s growing Salt Series of knives, the Caribbean is unique in several ways. Its full-flat-ground, leaf-shaped blade is precision machined from LC200N -- a nitrogen-based martensitic steel that holds an edge extremely well and is incredibly corrosion resistant. Available with either a PlainEdge or fully serrated SpyderEdge, the blade is housed in a vibrantly colored handle featuring scales crafted from layered black and yellow G-10. The intricately machined pattern on the scales not only creates a non-slip texture, it reveals the contrasting colors of the layers to create a stunning striped design. Skeletonized stainless steel liners nested within the scales anchor the knife’s high-strength Compression Lock® mechanism, while a reversible titanium hourglass clip offers convenient left or right-side tip-up carry.

The Caribbean Salt family of knives have a number of distinguishing characteristics that separate them from Spyderco’s other Salt Series folders, yet still make them ideal cutting tools for use in and around the water. The blades of these knives are crafted from LC200N -- a nitrogen and chromium-rich alloy that achieves its hardness through a conventional heat-treatment process, yet offers incredible corrosion resistance and toughness.

Their lightweight, open-backed handles feature special G-10 scales with alternating colored layers. The outside surfaces are painstakingly machined to create a ribbed pattern that offers a non-slip texture and reveals the contrasting color of the underlying layer. The inner side of the scales is also machined to accept the nested, corrosion-resistant LC200N liners that provide impressive structural strength and form the foundation of the knife's Compression Lock® mechanism. To ensure convenient carry and instant access, all Caribbean Salts feature a reversible titanium hourglass pocket clip that supports left or right-side tip-up carry and a lined lanyard hole for the easy attachment of safety lines, lanyards, or fobs.

This version of the Caribbean features the traditional sheepfoot blade profile often favored by mariners. Full-flat ground for exceptional edge geometry and low-friction cutting performance, it is available with a choice of a PlainEdge™ or fully serrated SpyderEdge™ cutting edges and has a fully accessible Trademark Round Hole™ for deft, ambidextrous, one-handed opening.
