COVID-19 Safety Guidelines on Our Tours

To all our valued guests:

For your safety and the safety of our crew, these are some of the measures we have implemented on our vessel.

  • We’ve increased the frequency of disinfecting surfaces and high traffic areas between each dive, and hand sanitizer will be available to all of our guests.

  • Employees receive daily wellness checks, including temperature checks, to ensure they are healthy and symptom-free. If you or anyone in your group is experiencing symptoms, we will work directly with you to cancel or reschedule your charter.

  • Guests will have their temperature checked prior to boarding.

  • The Crew and guests are required to wear face coverings when above water.

    • The Crew will be wearing gloves when possible/appropriate.

  • Guests will stay at a safe 6-foot distance while waiting to board, boarding the vessel, on deck, entering the water, exiting the water, and departing the vessel.

  • After each trip the vessel is cleaned again and sanitized

  • Rental equipment will be disinfected with a CDC recommended and EPA-N list approved solution.

Older adults and people who have severe underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes seem to be at higher risk for developing more serious complications from COVID-19 illness and should stay at home. For more info, please visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html.

Additionally, All employees have been given guidelines from Centers for Disease Control and Prevention which include; wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds especially after you have been in a public place, or after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing. If soap and water are not readily available, use a hand sanitizer. Cover all surfaces of your hands and rub them together until they feel dry. Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands. For more info, please visit https://covid19info.ocgov.com/.

How does Covid-19 change the guest experience?

  • Capacity is currently limited to 8 guests on our 46ft Newton Dive Special.

    • This provides plenty of area for social distancing.

  • For now, we will only be taking certified divers.

  • Our diver to dive guide ratio will be 8:1, for the time being

  • All 8 spots must be filled for the charter to confirm
  • The level of personal and hands-on service you've come to expect from us will be diverted in a new direction and focused on keeping you healthy above water.  We've always focused on keeping you safe and showing you a good time while underwater - that will never change - we’ll just be doing things a bit different on the surface.

  • Guests will now set up their own personal equipment.  We encourage guests that have not yet purchased their own equipment to take the plunge and use Covid19 as your excuse to complete your dive kit! Click here to find more reasons to take the plunge!

  • Guests will have their own personal mask rinse bucket.  Do not use spit as a defog.  If you wish to do so wait until you are in the ocean.  We will spray your mask with defog and you will use your individual rinse bucket.
  • The gear rinse bucket has been removed from the vessel. We will no longer be rinsing gear on board.  Rental equipment will be disinfected at the shop with CDC recommended and EPA-N List approved solution.
  • We are no longer able to store personal equipment.  A complimentary tote will be provided for transport of your equipment to and from the boat when you are diving with us for multiple days.

  • We will set up the gear of those guests using our rental regulators and bcd's.  The crew will wear gloves during this process.

  • Rental masks are not available.  Divers must use own their own mask

  • Waivers are to be signed prior to arriving at the boat.  Guests will use their personal devices to complete waivers.  You must be able to present your dive card prior to boarding the vessel - physical or ecard.

  • Guests need to bring their own REUSABLE and full water bottle to limit your risk of using the communal water refill station.

What about visiting the shop?

  • CDC recommended face masks are required to be worn while in the dive shop or waiting to enter
  • Do not enter if you feel ill, have a cough, or fever
  • At this time we are only permitting a maximum of 4 guests in the dive shop.  Kindly take a peek inside & do a count.  If you see other guests take a seat outside or wait in your car.  If you have more than 4 people in your party kindly have them remain outside.
  • Maintain  6ft of social distancing while inside - no hugs or physical greetings - shaka's only
  • Our changing room is closed and trying on clothes or equipment is limited
  • Masks may be limited for try on’s due to disinfection processes per CDC guidelines
  • We are not accepting returns
  • Restrooms are unavailable
